Bus Operator (MaBSTOA): Operates in Manhattan and the Bronx. Bus Operator (MTA Bus Company): Operates in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
Requirements: Have a CDL (Commercial Driver's License, such as Class A or B). If you do not have it, to obtain CDL, you should have a New York State driver license (Class D, Class E, or Non-CDL C) or a valid CDL from another state.
Next, apply for a commercial learner permit at a DMV office.
Next, prepare for your road test and practice with a supervising driver.
